Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
Researching the History of the Holiday you will find many references to springtime, crops being planted, fertility and seasons changing. Whatever your beliefs or traditions we wish you all the best and offer the following as some interesting trivia and facts:
Make your own natural Easter Egg dyes with this informative site.
Have you ever wondered why Easter falls on a different date every year? It is because Easter falls on the first Sunday after the full Moon after the Vernal Equinox.
The tradition of Easter Baskets is said to have started in Germany where the Easter Bunny was called Osterhase and was known to deliver treats to children who would build nests to receive them.
For ancient Egyptians the rabbit was a symbol of the moon so a full moon being used to determine the date of the holiday may have had an influence. A hare was a totemic animal of the goddess Eostre, which symbolized fertility for Spring. Knowing how Rabbits breed it would be easy to see how that legend got started!
Easter Around the world:
Sweden, Easter is celebrated with meals of eggs, herring, and Jansson's Temptation (potato, onion and pickled sardines baked in cream).
Bermuda, people celebrate Good Friday by flying home-made kites, eating codfish cakes, and eating hot cross buns
and lastly we leave you with some humor!
Chocolate tip: "If you get melted chocolate all over your hands, you're eating it too slowly."

Christmas Gift Giving
Gift giving can be a challenge here is a simple guide to get you going and keep you on track this holiday!
Gift Giving Tips
Another tip for doing good at the holidays. Find out if the person you want to give a gift to is a support or a Charitable organization or Arts Program. Often these organizations have logo merchandise for sale that supports their mission. By gifting these items you connect with your friend on an even deeper level supporting something that means something to them.
Whatever you choose to do have a safe and happy holiday season.

Happy New Year
All good wishes for all good things for you and yours in 2014

Did you know that the traditional "Auld Lang Syne" song you hear every year was actually a Scottish song meaning Times gone by? But does anyone really know the words? If you know a Scottsman ask them to sing it with all the traditional Scottish words.
It was brought to popularity in 1929 by Canadian band leader Guy Lombardo and quickly became a US tradition.
If you live in the American South you are probably familiar with the tradition of eating Black eyed peas and Ham Hocks.
Traditions elsewhere in the world include:
Japan: Cleaning house and hosting "forget the year parties" for the year about to end. Children receive small gifts of money.
Netherlands: The Dutch make bonfires and light fireworks
Greece: You eat St. Basils' Cake and look for the lucky coin that was baked inside (hope you don't chip a tooth!)
Spain: At midnight you eat 12 grapes to bring you 12 months of good luck in the new year.
Romania: People wear brightly colored costumes or Bear costumes and perform dances to ward off evil spirits and bad luck.
Whatever your traditions... whatever your resolutions.... we just hope that you have the BEST 2014 !

MERRY CHRISTMAS
[caption id="attachment_3128" align="aligncenter" width="400"]
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year To All[/caption]
Although a snow scene hardly depicts Christmas in Palm Springs I believe that Christmas is about the memories you hold most dear. And the snowy, cold Christmases of my youth are my strongest memories. Although I have spent Christmas in many places with all sorts of weather I will never forget the childhood wish for a white Christmas, and the times that wish came true.
Wherever you may find yourself this year, may your Christmas be everything you want it to be and fill your heart with all the love it can hold.

Happy New Year!
Wishing you all the best in the New Year
Thoughts for the New Year
If you are very rich but very unhappy does the money really matter?
If you are very beautiful but very unkind does your beauty really matter to anyone?
If you have everything you want but cannot share with others less fortunate, what good are those things?
Life is about sharing our blessings.
