Lastly, another interesting thing to watch will be the new hotels that are slated to open soon. What sort of dining options will they offer. Will Palm Springs become another Las Vegas in the dining category with Celebrity Chefs opening up more venues in the area? It will be fun to watch and enjoy all the great eats no matter which way it goes.

As part of the dramatic reshaping of Downtown Palm Springs the old Fashion Plaza mall is coming down. This huge outdated structure is coming down very quickly now. While the Hyatt Hotel will remain as will the underground parking structure the rest will soon be history.

Measure J - a tax increase - as passed by the voters calls for a major reshaping of the Downtown core of Palm Springs with new streets, new hotels and retail. In addition it will add funds for parks, roads and other services for the city.
The Hard Rock Hotel is set to take over the hotel Zozo. And the Kimpton hotel group has committed to a new property as well.

Hard Rock Hotel Comes To Palm Springs

The Hip hotel Zoso located right downtown in Palm Springs California is slated to become a Hard Rock Hotel by the end of the year. Long rumored for several other locations around town it is now officially the Zoso. An amazing walk out the front door to downtown location will be a highlight for guests of this property.

Long time Palm Springs visitors and residents will remember that the Hotel was once called the Marquis. The Time share component called the Marquis Villas is still in Operation just one street to the East.
