Festival Expansion: This April will see the festival, for the first time, expand to two entire three day weekends of Music and events. April 13-15 and 20-22. Bringing thousands of music lovers to the Coachella Valley the event is a major post season boom to tourism to be sure. Held at the Empire Polo Grounds in Indio CA this international musical event has been going on since 2001. While the majority of the acts tend to be alternative music favorites major headliners have appeared every year at the festival. 2012 will see DR Dre Snoop Dog, Radio Head and The Black Keys. Past years have seen the likes of Madonna, Paul McCartney and Prince. Watch this video of the 2011 Coachella Festival to get a feel of what the event is all about.
